Bubble.io is meant to be a no-code tool that anyone can use, so why would people hire a professional?

Bubble is a tool.

Like any tool.

What you can do with the tool depends on you.

Just because I own a hammer, doesn’t mean I have the ability to build a house (ask my wife!)

Bubble itself says that Bubble is easy to use.

But after 3 years of building on Bubble (and I was working full-time as a developer for 5 years before learning Bubble) — I can say with 100% confidence that Bubble is a powerful tool that is best driven by a professional developer.

It’s one thing to build a simple webpage or form on Bubble, perhaps a login and show some data.

But Bubble is many times more powerful than just doing this, and apps can get really complex.

Our apps have included:

  • Multiple user roles and role switching
  • Database segmented with table, row, and column-level security (Privacy Rules)
  • Notification system with templates, placeholders, and multiple channels (email, SMS, Slack, or any other channel)
  • Audit logs
  • Robust API integrations with popular Payment, Accounting, Calendar, Customer Engagement, CRM, and Analytics among other platforms.

In these situations, it is necessary to work with developers who are professionally trained and experienced in application architecture and data modeling.

My team and I — with tens of thousands of hours collectively using Bubble -are still learning things and improving our approach.

A developer who can secure the app, and organize it in a way that can scale.

Oh, and it doesn’t hurt to know a few things about UXUI and product management as well.

Bubble is best driven by a full-time, professional developer, and that’s why we’ve built Momentum Academy, a course that will equip you with everything you need to build complex, scalable apps.
